Copying an old event gives you the option to duplicate everything but the invitees and any saved standard reports. This can be a real timesaver, especially if the new event will have a similar agenda, website design, or registration process.

You cannot
copy an event from one type to another, such as a Classic event to a Flex event. Instead you will need to create a new event from scratch.

NOTE: Copying a multi-language Classic, Express Registration, or Express Ticketing event? The base language cannot be changed.

1 Copy an event from the Event Selection page. Click Create Event.

NOTE: These instructions are for the Classic Experience. For the New Experience, reference this article instead.

Select "Using an existing event," then click the ellipsis (...) at the end of the "Event" field.

When the pop-up appears, use the dropdown to find the event you want to copy based on its year. You can also use the search bar to narrow results. Click Select next to the event you want to copy.

Or copy the event from your existing event. Begin by selecting your event. Hover over Event Details and, under General, click Event Status.

Hover over Actions and click Duplicate Event.

2 Complete the Event Creation Wizard. Don't rush through the rest of the wizard for your Classic Flex, Express Registration, or Express Ticketing event. Save yourself a few clicks by updating as you advance. For example, this year's event won't have last year's dates.

NOTE: For your Classic or Flex events, any features that are checked will match exactly what was enabled in the original event, along with the added items. To prevent this items from automatically being added to your new event, uncheck "Keep the selected..." under the feature.

If you need to review your Classic or Flex event's selections, click Previous. Click Finish to copy the event.

3 Identify and update any outdated information. Don't stop there. Preview your entire event and check the following for old dates and obsolete data:
NOTE: When selecting the email handling method, if you choose to have scheduled email dates automatically adjusted, the emails will be scheduled relative to the new event start date.

Before launching your Classic, Flex, or Express event, don't forget to review your setup, ensuring registration is set up the way you want.
