Cvent lets you add a fee to almost anything within your event: admission items, sessions, and other goods and services. As illustrated below, different types of invitees can be charged different amounts for the same item.

1 Access the Fees page. Begin by selecting your event. Hover over Event Details, and under Pricing, click Fees.

2 Add a new fee. Select the type of item from the dropdown, then click Edit. To add a new fee, click Create Fee....

Select the item, and give the fee a name. Enter the amount. Ensure the fee is Active, then, determine if it will display on the Fees widget, for Flex events, or Fees page, for Classic events, after registration. Check which registration types this fee will apply to.

Click OK.

Or modify and existing one. Select the type of item from the dropdown. Click the User-added image icon beside the fee's name to update the basic information or change which registration types are associated to the fee.

Click OK.

 
NOTE: Need to delete the fee instead? If you're creating a Classic event, click the User-added image icon in the Delete column to the right of the fee. For a Flex event, you'll need to deactivate the fee instead of deleting it. Do so by clicking the User-added image icon to the left of the fee name, switching "Active" to No, and clicking OK.


3 Add an early bird pricing. Click Add Early Bird Pricing... to add discounted prices.

Enter a deadline, discounted price, and a maximum refund for the discounted price. In the example below, registrants will only pay $30 if they register by November fifth, and will be automatically refunded the same amount upon cancellation.
To add another amount, click Add Amount.

Click OK.

4 Add a refund policy. Make refunding automatic by setting up a refund policy. Once set up, there will be no need for you to individually refund anyone who modifies their registration or cancels.
