Notifications can be used to inform, remind, or update attendees about key event-related info. Even if someone chooses not to receive push notifications or downloads the app after your conference, all messages will still appear in the Notifications section of your app. Best of all, you can also use the CrowdPlanner app to create and cancel notifications on the go.

Creating Notifications in the EventCenter

1 Navigate to the Notifications section. After you have logged in to the EventCenter, click your event's name. In the Event Checklist, click Notifications under Interactive Features.

2 Create the notification. Click New Notification.

NOTE: Planning on adding lots of notifications? Consider importing them. You must schedule your notifications for at least one hour in the future when using the import.

Enter up to 140 characters in the first textbox. Link your notification to app content or a Web URL to make it tappable. For surveys and polls, make sure they are associated to a navigation icon before linking them to a notification.

NOTE: If you're importing notifications and want to link them to app content, edit each message after the import is complete.

Notification in EventCenter and App

Define when this notification should be published by entering a date and time. Keep in mind, these will always be in the same time zone as your event. The notification will be published immediately, if a date and time are not set.

Keep your messages targeted by clicking Apply Group and selecting a group from the dropdown.

Don't want anything popping up on attendees' phones? Uncheck “Send as a Push Notification” and the message will only appear in the Notifications section.

Once you’re done, make sure to review the content. If you’re sending it now, it cannot be edited. When you’re satisfied with your masterpiece, click Create Notification.

Editing Notifications

2  Update the notification. Scroll down to the Notification Log. Click the pencil icon next to the notification you wish to edit. Make your changes, then click Update Notification.

NOTE: Notifications can only be modified until five minutes before they are scheduled to go out.

Managing Notifications in CrowdPlanner

The notification menu opens by default.
