Increase app adoption by adding attendees to your CrowdCompass event and inviting them to download your app. Send the invitations before your event, allowing attendees to log in with just a few taps before they even arrive onsite. Your event staff will thank you.
NOTE: If you're using Cvent, save time by using the Cvent Integration to pull over your attendees and all their profile information from registration. You won't need to add attendees directly to the EventCenter, but you'll still need to send invitation emails in CrowdCompass.

1 Navigate to the Attendees section. After you have logged in to the EventCenter, click your event's name. In the Event Checklist, click Invited Attendees under Attendees.

2 Add attendees individually. Click New Invitation to add attendees one at a time. Just fill out their name, email, and any other information you'd like to include. You can also add their profile image.

Want attendees to receive their verification codes via text message? Be sure to include their mobile phone number. Start with the relevant country code (not 00), then the phone number, including brackets around the number 0 when necessary. For example, 1-555-123-4567 and +44 (0) 5555 456789 both follow the correct format.
NOTE: Verification codes are always sent to attendees via email, just in case they are unable to receive them via text message due to their phone number, location, or service provider. For the best attendee experience, send CrowdCompass invitation emails prior to the event, encouraging attendees to download the app and log in before arriving onsite, no verification code needed.
Once you've finished, click Create Invitation.

Or add them in bulk. Click Import to upload an entire spreadsheet worth of attendees all at once. Download the template. Fill out each attendee’s name, email address, and a unique ID. If you'd like to preload your list of invitees so they display automatically within the app, make sure "True" is written in the "Show on Attendee List" column for all your invitees. Save the file when you've finished.
 
Back in CrowdCompass click Choose File to locate it on your computer and network, then Start Import.

3 Send the invitations. Once your event is published, you'll need to return to this page. To email everyone on the list who has not been invited yet, click Send New Invitations, then OK.

You can also invite a single attendee by clicking the Send Invite icon next to their name.

NOTE: Don't find the default invitation flashy enough? You can always jazz it up a bit.

Once your invitation has been created or an invitee has been added, there are four attendee statuses that will help you keep track of where your attendees are in the app login process. These include:
 

  • Pending - An invitation has not been sent yet, but is ready to be delivered.
  • Registered - An invitation has been sent. For more detail, check the icon next to the invitee's email address. If you see a check mark, the invitation reached their inbox. If you see an exclamation point, something went wrong. Recheck the address.
  • Confirmed - Your invitee has successfully signed into the app.
  • Removed - After the invitee signed into the app, you or another user revoked their access on the Confirmed Attendees page.


After an attendee has confirmed, they take full ownership of their profile and you can no longer make edits to it in the EventCenter. Only the attendee can make changes to their profile once they've logged in.

NOTE: Want a full list of all the attendees who have logged in? Click Confirmed Attendees in the side nav, then Export at the top of the page. Select your desired file type, then click Export once more. The list will be sent to your inbox.

4 Resend the invitations, if necessary. If you've already tried to send the invitation with no luck, you can add an alternative email address or resend the invitations in bulk.

To add an alternate email address, click the pencil icon next to the Invitee's name, enter another address in alternate email, then click Resend Invitation


Too many attendees for one at a time? Click the arrow to the right of Send New Invitations, then Resend All Invitations. Attendees in pending or registered status will receive the invitation again. If an attendee has already confirmed or has been removed, they will not receive the invitation again.

You can also send invitations in bulk to any added alternative addresses by clicking the same arrow, then Send to Alternative Emails.

If an attendee is claiming they never received your email, try these additional solutions

5 Revoke or restore access, if necessary. Accidentally send an invite to someone who shouldn't have one? Revoke a confirmed attendee's access to your event by clicking Confirmed Attendees on the side nav, locating your chosen attendee, then clicking the trash can icon next to their name. Have a change of heart later on? You can restore access by clicking the envelope icon.

NOTE: Once a recipient logs in to the app, they will be added to the Confirmed Attendees list.
