Forget about a show of hands. Use live polls to find out what attendees are thinking. The results can be projected for all to see and will update in real-time.
NOTE: This is a premium feature. Contact your Account Manager for more info.

Creating Live Polls
NOTE: Don’t want to know who said what? Contact CrowdCompass support to enable Anonymous Surveys and Live Polls. Though be aware, once this setting is turned on, it cannot be turned off.

1 Add a poll. After you have logged in to the EventCenter, click your event's name. In the Event Checklist, click Live Polls under Interactive Features.

Click New Live Poll, give it a name, then click Create.

2 Make it your own. Use the Poll Builder to customize your future questionnaire.

The Questions tab opens by default. Click the neighboring tab, Styles. Choose a theme that matches the one for your event. Tailor it further by selecting a field under Customize Styles, then enter an RGB or Hex value or use the color picker. Want your poll to display number of responses instead of percentage? You can change this using the Vote Count dropdown in the Responses section.

Once you’ve settled on the overall design, add your question. Each poll can only be one question. However, you can create multiple polls if necessary. Select a question type, enter the question and answer choice text, and, if necessary, upload any images in either JPG or PNG format.
NOTE: Stick to seven choices or fewer. Though there is no limit, how many will appear before an attendee has to scroll down varies by device.

Want attendees to select more than one choice? Check the box next to "Allow multiple answers." To allow attendees to submit their own responses, check the box next to "Include Other" or "Include N/A".
NOTE: Any free-form responses submitted for "Other" or "N/A" answer choices will not be shown individually on the Live Display, but will instead be grouped together.

3 Find it a home. After you're done, click Return to EventCenter in the top right. You’ll be asked how you would like attendees to access your new creation. Your choices include:

  • As a Navigation Icon Click Navigation IconYour icon appears in the app once it’s assigned an image.

Want to include multiple live polls in the same navigation icon? Create a top level menu icon and add each poll as menu items.

  • On Specific Sessions, Speakers, or Organizations – Click Content. Select the category, then further define what content your poll applies to. When you've finished, click Save. In the example below, this particular poll can be accessed in all sessions tagged as a workshop.

  • Both – There’s no stopping you from having the same poll display in a navigation icon and within specific content. Just create the icon first, return to the Live Polls page, click the name of your poll, and choose what content it should display in.

4 Update the Active Until date, if necessary. Your poll will be open for responses for one month after the end of your event by default. If you want your poll to stop collecting responses sooner, return to the Live Polls page and click the name of your poll. Adjust the Active Until date, then click Save.

NOTE: You can only remove individual responses you submitted yourself. Follow these steps to test your poll and clear your test response once you're finished.

Displaying Live Polls

1 View your poll results. After you have logged in to the EventCenter, click your event's name. In the Event Checklist, click Live Polls under Interactive Features. Click Options next to your poll, then View Results.

NOTE: Want to export all the data instead? Just click .xls file and a spreadsheet will be emailed to you. If your attendees were logged in when they responded, their names and email addresses will be listed next to their responses.

2 Add them to your presentation or page. Switch between polls with the first dropdown and select which version of the poll with the second. Once you're done, click Download Widget, then click the URL in the Live Poll section. Whether you are using the URL, the slides, or the web widget, we recommend testing each poll onsite while connected to the projector to ensure the live display is working correctly.
NOTE: If your operating system or copy of Office does not meet the requirements outlined for each PowerPoint version, do not use the slides.
