Use Live Q&A to enable your attendees to submit questions anonymously during a session right from their mobile devices. Those questions will be viewed by a moderator who has the final say on which ones are read by the speaker. Your moderator can be anyone added to the attendee list, including yourself or the speaker. The instructions below will show you how to set up the feature in the EventCenter and act as an effective moderator.

Enabling Live Q&A

1 Navigate to the Sessions page.   After you have logged in to the EventCenter, click your event's name. In the Event Checklist, click Sessions under Content.

2 Enable Live Q&A on individual sessions. Locate the session you'd like to turn on Live Q&A for and click the pencil icon to the right of its name.

Scroll down and check the box labeled "Enable Live Q&A."
Enabling Live Q&A

Don't forget to click Update Session when you've finished. Repeat this step for each session that should have Live Q&A. Once you're finished, continue to the next section to assign moderators.

Or in bulk. If you need to enable Live Q&A for a lot of sessions, use the session template to activate it in bulk. Export your existing sessions, then set the Live Q&A Enabled column to "TRUE" for the applicable sessions. Save your updated template, then re-import. Once you're finished, continue to the next section to assign moderators.

Assigning Moderators

NOTE: Live Q&A will not work unless you assign moderators.

1 Navigate to the Invited Attendees page. After you have logged in to the EventCenter, click your event's name. In the Event Checklist, click Invited Attendees under Attendees.

2 Assign moderators individually. Click the pencil icon next to your chosen moderator, then check the box labeled "Live Q&A Moderator."

Granting Moderator Access
NOTE: If any of your moderators are not on the list, click Add New Invitation or export your list, add them, and re-import.

Don't forget to click Update Attendee when you've finished. The moderator will now have access to all sessions with Live Q&A, not just the ones you want them to moderate. Repeat this step for your session's speaker as well as anyone else who should be a moderator during your event.

Or in bulk. If you need to assign a lot of attendees as moderators, use the Invited Attendee template to grant access in bulk. Export your existing attendees, then set the Q&A Moderator column to "TRUE" for the applicable attendees. Save your updated template, then re-import.

Acting as a Moderator

1 Access the Session Detail Page. Login to your event's app and locate your session on the schedule. Tap its name.

2 Start curating questions. Tap Moderator Access. The Moderator tab displays all of the questions that have been submitted. Tap the icon in the top right of the screen to refresh the page and load new questions. Use the corresponding buttons below each question to either approve or reject them. Approving them will send them to the Speaker tab, while rejecting them will grey them out. Once a question has been rejected, you can tap Restore to return it to the question list if you have a change of heart. In the Speaker tab, check off questions once they've been answered to stay organized.

Check out our feature videos to see moderating Live Q&A in action.

Q&A Moderator View

Or submit a question yourself. If you want to guarantee that some good questions are submitted during the session, there's nothing stopping you from asking them yourself. Return to the Session Detail page and tap Submit a question now and type out your question for the speaker. When you're ready, tap Submit.
NOTE: Questions can only be submitted one hour before the session starts and thirty minutes after the session ends. You can test Live Q&A by creating a fake session and changing the start time.
