About

Collect online payments through your Cvent event or OnArrival by setting up a CyberSource account. CyberSource is a multinational payment gateway that supports a variety of currencies, cards, and banks.

NOTE: If your organization's security policy won't let Cvent store credit card information, consider using CyberSource Secure Acceptance, which handles the payments instead.

1 Get a merchant account. Without a merchant account, payment gateways like CyberSource would not be able to connect to your business checking. If you already have a merchant account, ensure it is CyberSource compatible and accepts at least one of the following: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Diner’s Club.

If you need a merchant account, contact one of the banks below

  • Barclays
  • Citibank
  • Elavon
  • HSBC
  • Lloyds
  • TSB
  • Streamline/RBS

To avoid delays and other problems, make sure you (or the bank) lists CyberSource as the Payment Service Provider (PSP) when setting up your merchant account.

2 Share your account info with us. Share this account info with Cvent by filling out this form.

You will be asked for:

  • Cvent account ID
  • Processor name
  • Merchant account information
  • Accepted currencies
  • Accepted credit cards

After submitting the form, allow two to three business days for setup and testing. You’ll receive a notification email when your account is ready.

3 Generate the security key. Log in to your new CyberSource account. On the left, click Payment Configuration, then Key Management

Click Generate Key.

Select Transaction Processing, then click Next Step.

Select Simple Order, then click Submit. The file will automatically download.

NOTE: The file name will automatically pull in your merchant ID. To double-check it's correct, log in to your Cvent account and go to the global navigation> Admin > Integrations > Merchant Accounts.

Open the file using a web browser (e.g. Microsoft Edge) to deploy the key on your system.

4 Share the security key with us. After you've deployed the key, you'll need to open a case and send us the file. Without this critical info, we'll be unable to finalize the connection between Cvent and CyberSource.

5 Run a credit card test. Once your CyberSource account is linked to Cvent, test it with a credit card using these instructions to ensure payments and refunds are working properly.
