Quotas are available to limit responses to surveys to a narrowly defined group based on known information of the respondent and information collected via survey questions. The best way to think about quotas is a collection of buckets into which respondents are added. Each bucket has criteria that must be met to enter the bucket.

As soon as the respondent has failed the criteria for all the buckets then the respondent is disqualified from the survey. If a respondent does not qualify for any quota they will be directed to the end of the survey and are not able to answer additional questions. The evaluation of whether a respondent fits into a quota occurs at each page break in the survey.

In addition to creating quotas, you can display a different thank you page to respondents based on the quota they are in, create quota-specific email alerts, and cater reports to the feature as well.

Creating Quotas

1 Activate Quotas. Begin by selecting your survey. Click Settings in the blue navigation bar. Under Section Links on the left side, click Configuration Options, then Edit.

Check Limit responses by quotas

NOTE: You cannot allow multiple responses or response editing when quotas are enabled.

Creating Quota-Specific Thank You Pages

Thank You pages work in conjunction with quotas. You have the ability to customize a unique Thank You page when either a response is applied to a selected quota or when a respondent is disqualified from the survey.

1 Create a new Thank You page. Begin by selecting your survey. Click Design Survey in the blue navigation bar. Under Section Links on the left, click Thank You Pages, then Add Page.

Enter the page name and choose when respondents will be directed to the page.

2 Choose the redirect settings. Select what the end of survey experience should be for this group of respondents. Your options include:

User-added imageThank You page - A landing page at the end of the survey which offers the ability to customize the message.

User-added imageReturn to the Welcome page - This option would re-start the respondent at the beginning of the survey.

User-added imageThis URL - This will send respondents directly to the specified URL upon completing the survey.

Once you're done, click Save.

Configuring Quota-Related Email Alerts

You can also configure quota based email alerts. The alert can be based on the quantity or percentage of maximum capacity of responses assigned to any and all quotas.

1 Access the Alert Details page. Begin by selecting your survey. Click Emails in the blue navigation bar. Under Section Links on the left, click Email Alerts, then Add Alert.

2 Enter the alert details. Name the alert. Select Quota Responses Assigned from the Type dropdown. Determine whether you want to receive the alert based on a set quantity of responses or a percentage. Define if all or some quotas will trigger the alert.

4 Specify the recipients. List everyone who should receive this alert in the Recipients section. To send it to yourself, choose Account User from the Type drop-down, click the ellipses (...), and click Select next to your name.

Once you're done, click Save.

Reporting on Quotas

1 Access the Reports page. Begin by selecting your survey. Click Legacy Reports in the navigation bar.

2 Select the Report. Select Respondent Status Reports from the Display: dropdown. Quota-specific reports are:

  • Disqualified Responses - Shows a list of respondents who were disqualified from the survey along with the reasons for disqualification.
  •  Quota Responses - Shows a graph of the number of responses assigned to each quota and disqualified from the survey.
NOTE: The available response types are Complete Response, Partial Response, and Disqualified Response.

3 Run the report. If applicable, select the report's settings. Click Run Report.
