A targeted list in classic or an invitation list in new surveys is a set of contacts and the emails that will be sent to them before, during, and after a survey. Multiple targeted lists or invitation lists enable you to personalize communication with every segment of your audience, customizing emails relevant to each and scheduling their delivery at the time that makes the most sense.

In Surveys (Classic)
 
1 Access your survey's Configuration Options. A single targeted list is automatically generated with each created survey. If you require more than one, you may need to make some changes in your Configuration Options.

Begin by selecting your survey. Click Settings in the blue navigation bar.
Under Section Links on the left, click Configuration Options.

2 Enable multiple email campaigns. Click Edit, then scroll down to the Targeted Lists section. Select Multiple. Click Save.

3 Add the targeted list. Click Emails in the blue navigation bar, then Add.

Name the targeted list. Check the box to make it the default. Respondents not associated with a list are added to the default list automatically upon completion. There can be only one default targeted list.

Enter the name and address you want to appear as the sender's in these emails. To copy templates from another targeted list, check the box and use the dropdown to locate the list.

Once you're done, click Save.
 

In Surveys (New)

1 Access the Invitation List page. Begin by selecting your survey. Hover over Send & Share and, under Emails, click Invitation Lists.

2 Create an invitation list. Click Create Invitation List. Give it a name. Check the box to make it the default, if you want this list to be the default instead of the automatically created list. Respondents not associated with a list are added to the default list automatically upon completion. There can be only one default invitation list.
 
Establish if the survey will no longer accept responses after a certain date by switching "Survey will close to list members after a certain date" to Yes, then enter in the date. Once this date passes, respondents on this  list will no longer be able to access the survey.

Click Save.
