Guest registration records who your invitees are planning on bringing along, usually a spouse or child. Guests can be free or paid for by the individual registering them. Registrants will always be attached to their guests. If plans change, they can modify or cancel their guest's registrations themselves. If you're creating a Flex event, reference this article instead.

NOTE: Guest registration should not be confused with group registration, a different feature used for registering multiple people at the same time.

1 Enable guest registration. Begin by selecting your event. Hover over Event Details and, under General, click Event Configuration. Click Edit and scroll down to the Website & Registration section. Check Guest Registration, then click Save.

2 Access the Guests tab. Hover over Website & Registration and, under Registration, click Registration Settings.

If you have multiple registration paths enabled, click the name of the path. The Basic Settings tab opens by default. Click the tab to the right, Guests.

3 Configure the options for guest registration. Click Edit. Ensure "Invitees can bring guests" is switched to Yes. Then, enter a minimum and maximum number of guests allowed for each invitee.

NOTE: Like registrants, guests also count towards your event's and agenda items' capacities.

To ensure your guests are paid for by those registering them, switch "Apply fees to guests" to Yes. If you want guests to be free, leave it as No.

Select whether invitees should enter their guests on the same page they enter their personal information or after they select their sessions and items.

Determine if invitees will be able, required, or unable to select a registration type for their guests. After choosing to make them optional or required, a list of registration types appears that they can pick from. Click Add Registration Types to find one that's not listed.

If you don't care to collect information about your invitees' guests, scroll down to the Advanced Settings section and click No next to the first option.

NOTE: If you do not collect personal information about guests, a dropdown will appear for registrants to indicate how many guests they're bringing. The "Add Guest" button will not show.

Decided to go with collecting information? Don't miss the option to add new contacts to your Address Book. Assign them to a contact group by checking "Following contact group," and selecting the contact group. To make previous guests easier to add during registration, consider letting them select guests from their related contacts.

NOTE: For guests to be added to your Address Book, registrants will need to enter a different email address for their guests.

If you want to prevent registrants from being guests and guests from being primary registrants, select No for the last two options.

Scroll down to the Guest Fields section and specify which fields should be required using the dropdowns in the Display Setting column.

Use the textboxes to edit any display name. Determine if the the registrant's information should automatically be copied into a guest's field by checking the box under the "Copy from Registrant" column.

Scroll down to the Guest Emails section and use the checkboxes to determine who receives which guest-related emails.

Once you're done, click Save.

Have multiple registration paths? You will need to repeat this process for each one.

NOTE: Need to collect information from your guests? You can always add guest-specific questions to your registration.
