When an event is closed (usually due to reaching capacity or the registration deadline passing), adding and removing an invitee from the waitlist is as easy as a few clicks of the mouse. If a spot opens up, the Classic or Flex event's waitlist notification can be sent to your invitees or you can register them yourself.

 
NOTE: If you increase the capacity of the session, registration will not reopen automatically, neither will waitlisted invitees be notified. Follow these steps for reopening a session with a waitlist.


Adding Invitees to the Waitlist

1 Find the invitee. Begin by selecting your event. Hover over Invitee Management and, under Manage, click Invitees & Registrants. Search for the registrant and click the appropriate name.

2 Add them to the waitlist. Hover over Update Status and click Add to Waitlist.

Click Submit.


Removing Invitees from the Waitlist

1 Find the invitee. Begin by selecting your event. Hover over Invitee Management and, under Manage, click Invitees & Registrants. Search for the registrant and click the appropriate name.

2 Remove them to the waitlist. Hover over Update Status and click Remove from Waitlist.

Click Confirm. The invitee will be moved back into Visited status. They will only be able to register for the event if registration is reopened. They will not have the option to register through the Classic or Flex event's Waitlist Notification email.

 
NOTE: Trying to register the invitee for the event instead? Manually send the Waitlist Notification email or, import their registration to remove them from the waitlist and register them for the event all at once.

Deactivating the Waitlist for a Classic Event
You can disable the waitlist at any time. Anyone who was on it will remain in "waitlisted" status until you remove or register them.

1 Open the registration path. Begin by selecting your event. Hover over Website & Registration and, under Registration, click Registration Settings.

If you have multiple registration paths, click one.

2 Deactivate the waitlist. Click Edit.

Scroll down to the Waitlist section and switch Event Waitlist to Disable.

Now, if registration has closed, invitees will see the following message if they try and register:

Deactivating the Waitlist for a Flex Event
You can disable the waitlist at any time. Anyone who was on it will remain in "waitlisted" status until you remove or register them.

1 Open the registration path. Begin by selecting your event. Hover over Website & Registration and, under Registration, click Registration Process.

If you have multiple registration paths, select one from the Registration Paths dropdown.

2 Deactivate the waitlist. Click Customize to the right of the Waitlist page. 
From the Registration Page dropdown in the top left of the designer, click the User-added image to the right of the registration path. In the Basic Settings section, toggle "Enable a waitlist for this path" to grey.

Click Apply.

If you have multiple registration paths, select the it from the Registration Paths and toggle the setting for each path.


Once you're done, click Save to preserve the draft, or click Publish to make it visible to invitees.
