Once you've created internal information questions, import the answers in bulk using the Import Wizard.
 
NOTE: These instructions are for the Classic Experience. For the New Experience, reference this article instead.

1 Access the Import Wizard. Begin by selecting your event. Hover over Invitee Management and, under Import, click Internal Information.

2 Download the template file. Click the first Download a file link and save the file. This file contains the questions you created.

 
NOTE: The second download file is just for reference. It shows you how to format different answer types so they don't get skipped during import.

Locate the file on your computer or network. Right click the file, hover over Open with, and select Microsoft Office Excel.

3 Prepare your data. Do not delete or reorder anything in the first row. These are the column headers. After you've added your invitees' names and emails, copy your internal information answers into the corresponding rows.

Additional formatting requirements are:
  • Your file must be a text file (.txt) or Excel Workbook (.xls or .xlsx).
  • First Name, Last Name, and Email Address are required for every row.
  • The email address must match that of an existing invitee.
 
NOTE: To import internal information answers for guests, you'll need to include the guest confirmation number in the import file.

4 Import the file. Back in Cvent, click Browse... to locate the file on your computer or network. Once you're done, click Next.

In Step 2 of the wizard, use the dropdowns to match the question headers in your import file to the internal information questions in your event.

Click Next.

The final page of the wizard shows your selections from the prior steps. If you need to make any changes, click  Previous. Click Finish to import the file.


Once the import is complete, you'll be able to see how many records were inserted and skipped.  

5 Check your work.
To check the status of your import, click Admin in the top right. Hover over Reporting and, under View, click Recent Imports/Exports. To view more information, hover over User-added image under the Destination column and click Details. Your import will take a few minutes to appear in the report.
 
NOTE: Any internal information answers that were imported while the event was in Pending status will be removed once the event is launched.

6 Report on these answers in bulk. Back in your event, the internal information answers appear in the Answer Details by Question report in Reporting > Reports > Reports, then select "Registration Reports" from the Category dropdown.
