Contact types allow you to pre-assign a registration type in the Address Book. They can apply to multiple events, but a person can only have one contact type.
 
NOTE: Though it's easy to mix them up, contact types and registration types are distinct features that work together to customize registration.

1 Access the Create Contact Type page. Begin by clicking Admin in the top right. Hover over Account and, under Contacts, click Contact Types.
 
Click Create Contact Type.

 
NOTE: Don't see this section? Ask your administrator to give you full access to Data Lists in Admin > Users > Manage > User Roles.
 
2 Enter all relevant information. Name the contact type and add a code. Most of the time, simply reentering the name will be enough. However, if you plan on allowing invitees to choose their registration type by entering this code, you may want to consider something less obvious.
 
NOTE: You cannot delete a contact type once it is associated to an event or contact, but you can deactivate it.

Once you're done, click Save.
 

3 Associate the types to your event. Add them to your event. Once associated to an event, a contact type becomes a registration type.
