Don't overhire for check-in. Let your iPad handle that line by turning it into a self-service station. Using Kiosk Mode in OnArrival, your attendees can check themselves and their guests in as well as register, sign their name, submit a payment, and print badges. Follow the steps below to set it up.

NOTE: Kiosk Mode does not work on iPhones or iPods and is only available with a Premium license.

1 Choose a configuration. Select your event. Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner. Scroll down to the Kiosk Mode section and tap Kiosk Mode. From here, you can choose between:
  • Normal - After checking in or registering, attendees can print their badge. You can also collect payments or signatures.
  • QuickScan -  Attendees check in by simply scanning their badge or selecting their name from a list. But they cannot print badges, submit a payment, or sign.

Once you've made a decision, tap the arrow in the top left to return to the main settings page.

2 Disable any unnecessary settings. Scroll down to the Kiosk Mode section again and tap Additional Settings. In Normal Configuration you'll see a number of options, including:

  • Attendee Search - Allows attendees to search for themselves by full name, email, source ID, or confirmation number.
  • Secure Search - Requires an attendee to search for an exact match based on the Attendee Search fields you have configured.
NOTE: Because the Secure Search feature does not auto-fill attendees' names (that would reveal personal data and violate GDPR), we recommend enabling it.
  • QR Code Scanning -  Allows attendees to scan themselves in. As the name suggests, Kiosk Mode works best when scanning QR codes. Other types of barcodes are not recommended.
  • Badge Printing - Allows attendees to print their own badges.
  • Badge Editing - Allows attendees to change what appears on their badge. If switched on, you cannot control what fields are modified.
  • Payment Collection -  Allows attendees to pay a balance due by manually entering their credit card information or using our credit card reader. OnArrival will use the same merchant account that is tied to their event in Cvent.
  • New Registrations -  Allows walk-ins to register. Tap Additional Information and drag and drop any the fields you want attendees to fill out to Required or Optional. If you have registration questions or custom contact fields you want to appear, go to Website & Registration > OnArrival > Attendee Questions in Event and add them there.
  • Custom Background Image -  Allows you to update the default image attendees see in Kiosk Mode. Dimensions should be 2048 x 1536.
If using QuickScan configuration, you'll only be able to disable attendee search and upload a custom background image.

Tap the arrow in the top left to return to the main settings page, then Done to return to your event.

3 Turn it on. Tap Kiosk Mode on the lower-right corner of the screen.
