Link logic lets you personalize a question's answer choices based off a previous question's response during registration. You can also apply this logic to event questions and survey questions

1 Access your contact custom fields. Begin by clicking Admin in the top right. Hover over Account and, under Account, click Custom Fields. Select Custom Contact Fields from the View dropdown.

2 Set up the logic formula. If you haven't already, create your custom fields for Event or Inquisium. If your fields have already been added, click the name of the field.

The Details tab opens by default. Click the neighboring tab, Advanced Logic, then click Edit.


Select Yes, then a source question from the dropdown. This question will determine which answers your invitee will see.

3 Link the questions. A table will appear below displaying the source question's answers on the left and the second question's answers at the top. Determine which answer options show up for each possible source question answer by checking the appropriate boxes in each row. In the example below, the checked sales managers will only appear if their region is selected. If you don't see the table, or the list of answer choices is so long it feels like you're scrolling endlessly, you can import the link logic.

Once you're done, click Save.

Or import the link logic. Click Export.

Save the file and open it in Excel.

The first column contains the second question's answer choices that you already added. The second column lists them all as default. In column C, enter the source question answers in the correct rows to match them to the second question's answers.
 
NOTE: If linking multiple questions, link the first answer to column C, the second answer to column D, and so on.

After entering your changes, open the File menu and click Save As. In the Save as type dropdown, make sure the Text (Tab delimited) option is selected. Click Save. If a warning message appears, go ahead and click Yes.

Back in Cvent, click Import. Click Browse... to locate the file on your computer or network. Click Import File.


4 Check your work. Once you've added these fields to registration or your survey, test your event or your survey to ensure the logic works the way you want it to.
