There are over 400 data tags available in Event Management. Add one to an email or page and that content will change based on who’s looking at it and what event they are in. The list below outlines our most popular tags. Not seeing what you need? You can always insert a different data tag or create a custom one.
 
NOTE: Some data tags have two versionsLink and URL. If you're not sure when to use which, take a look at "Should I use a URL or Link data tag?"

Invitee
 
{[C-CONFIRMATION NUM LINK]} or {[C-CONFIRMATION NUM URL]}

Inserts a link that, when clicked, will send the invitee an email containing their system-generated confirmation number. They will need this to view and modify their registration. If using the link version, the default text will simply read "Click here."

{[C-CURRENT REGISTRATION]}


Creates a table that displays what someone selected during registration, including admission items, optional sessions, optional items, and answers to registration questions. You can modify what questions appear or add more text below sessions, but nothing else can be customized.The guest's items will also appear.

{[C-PRIMARY REGISTRANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION]}

Brings up the registration information for the invitee only, including all travel details.

{[C-GROUP CONFIRMATION DETAILS]}

Lists the system-generated group confirmation number as well as individual confirmation numbers for everyone in the group. They will need this to view and modify their registration.

{[C-GUEST CONFIRMATION DETAILS]}

Displays the name and confirmation number of the invitee along with each guest and their corresponding confirmation number.

{[C-ANSWER:Question Code]}

Displays the invitee's response to any registration, feedback survey, regret survey, or cancellation survey question. Internal Information fields can be selected as well. If a code hasn't been added to the question, it won't appear in the data tag search. Any unanswered questions will generate a blank space.

{[C-MY AGENDA:ANN]}

Creates a table that displays the sessions an invitee has registered for, including their date, time, and location. When selecting this tag, you'll choose what types of sessions should be included, and if the session custom fields and codes will display. Your choice will replace the "ANN" section of the tag.

{[C-MY SESSIONS: parameters]}

Displays a list of the sessions an invitee has registered for. When selecting this tag, you'll choose what types of sessions should be included and how they should be separated. Your choice will replace the "parameters" section of the tag.

{[E-NAME BADGE LINK]} or {[E-NAME BADGE URL]}

Inserts a link that, when clicked, prints the registrant's name badge. If using the link version, the default text will read "Click here to print the name badge."


Registration

{[E-RSVP NO LINK]} or {[E-RSVP NO URL]}

Inserts a link that, when clicked, declines the invitee from the event and triggers the regret email. If using the link version, the default text will read "No." This data tag is also known as the decline link.

{[E-FEEDBACK LINK]} or {[E-FEEDBACK URL]}

Inserts a link that, when clicked, opens the Feedback survey. If using the link version, the default text will read "Click here to respond."

 

NOTE: If using the New Feedback Survey, use {[E-SURVEY-LINK]} or {[E-SURVEY-URL]} instead. 

{[E-MODIFY REG LINK]} or {[E-MODIFY REG URL]}

Inserts a link that, when clicked, allows the registrant to modify their registration once they provide their email and confirmation number. If using the link version, the default text will read "Click here."

{[P-FIRST NAME}

Inserts the event planner's first name.

{[P-LAST NAME}

Inserts the event planner's last name.

{[E-RSVP YES LINK]} or {[E-RSVP YES URL]}

Inserts a link that, when clicked, takes the invitee to the first page of registration. If using the link version, the default text will read "Yes." This data tag is also known as the registration link.

{[E-UNREGISTER LINK]} or {[E-UNREGISTER URL]}

Inserts a link that, when clicked, takes the invitee to the Cancellation page once they provide their email and confirmation number. After they unregister, the invitee will receive the Cancellation Confirmation email, if active. If using the link version, the default text will read "Unregister."

{[SS-LOCATION: Code]}

Displays the location of the session selected.

{[E-CALENDAR LINK]} or {[E-CALENDAR URL]}

Inserts a link that, when clicked, opens a calendar appointment for the event. The recipient can choose which calendar program they want to use to open the appointment. The appointment will populate with the event's title, start date and time, end date and time, and description.

{[E-HOMEPAGE LINK]} or {[E-HOMEPAGE URL]} 

Inserts a link that, when clicked, opens the Summary Page. If using the link version, the default text will read "Click here for the event summary."

{[SS-CALENDAR LINK]} or {[SS-CALENDAR URL]}

Inserts a link that, when clicked, opens a calendar appointment for the session selected. The recipient can choose which calendar program they want to use to open the appointment. The appointment will populate with the session's title, start date and time, end date and time, and description.

{[SS-REG INFO:CODE]}

Inserts the content in the Registration Information field of the session selected.

{[SS-ASSIGNED SPEAKERS:CODE]}

Inserts a table with the selected session's associated speaker name, title, company, and category.

Emails

{[E-EMAIL LINK]} or {[E-EMAIL URL]}

Inserts a link to the event's Summary page with one exception: if it's in either the Registration Confirmation or Modification Confirmation emails, it links to the Confirmation page instead. The default text in the link version reads "Click here to respond."   


{[EMAIL OPT OUT]}

Inserts a link that, once clicked, will opt the invitee out from receiving all emails sent from this account. However they will still receive confirmations based on actions they've taken in Cvent, such as making a payment or modifying their registration.

{[EMAIL UNSUBSCRIBE]}

Inserts a link that, once clicked, will opt an invitee out from receiving all emails sent from this event. However they will still receive confirmations based on actions they've taken in Cvent, such as making a payment or modifying their registration.
 
{[E-BRIDGE LINK: parameters]} or
{[E-BRIDGE URL: parameters]}

Inserts a link that, once clicked, will open the Identity Confirmation page of another event that is within your account. Instead of sending multiple emails to your invitees, the bridge data tags allow you to link to other events so invitees can select which ones they want to register for. To use this tag, you must also have Cvent's survey tool, Inquisium.

 
Payments
 
{[C-AMOUNT ORDERED]}

Displays the total amount of everything the invitee ordered that costs money. The amount includes admission items, optional sessions, service fees, taxes, and optional items.

{[C-AMOUNT PAID]}

Displays the total amount the invitee has paid.

{[C-BALANCE DUE]}

Displays the total amount the invitee owes.

{[C-GROUP ORDER DETAILS]}

Creates a table that displays a list of each group member's order, including the date ordered, type of order, item, type of item, amount ordered, amount paid, and balance due.

{[C-GROUP ORDER SUMMARY]}

Creates a table that displays a list of each group member's order, including the item, price, quantity, and amount due.

{[C-ORDERS]}

Creates a table that displays details of the invitee's orders, including the order's date and type, as well as the amount ordered, paid, and due. The guest's orders will also appear.

{[C-ORDER DETAILS]}

Creates a table that displays details of the invitee's orders, including the order number and date, item, price, quantity, amount due, along with service fees and taxes applied. The guest's orders will also appear.

{[C-ORDERS PAYMENTS]}

Creates a table that displays the invitee's orders, but if the registrant has made a payment, it also includes each order's payment date and type, amount ordered, paid, and due.

{[C-ORDER SUMMARY]} 

Displays the invoice/order number, date, and total cost of the registrant's order. Also displays the registrant's registration items and their price, quantity, and amount along with taxes and discounts applied. The guest's orders will also appear.

{[C-PAYMENTS]}

Creates a table that displays the invitee's payment details, including the date paid, payment type, reference number, and amount paid.


{[C-PAYMENT METHOD]}

Displays the most recent payment type used.
 
Travel
 
{[C-ALL REGISTRATION INFORMATION]}

Creates a table that displays the registrant's admission items, optional sessions, optional items, answers to registration questions, and all travel requests, air actual submissions, and answers to travel questions. The registrant's guests information will also appear.

{[C-MY AIR]}

Creates a table that displays the registrant's air request and air actuals reservation details, including the request name, reservation status, departure date and time, ticket type, seating, age category, special meal request, airline preference, and rewards number.

{[C-ALL AIR ACTUALS]}
 
Creates a table that displays every air actual flight that your registrant and their guests submit, including the fields they fill out on the Air Actual form, the secure flight fields, and additional information for every leg of the flight. Each flight is split into it's own table.

{[C-MY AIR ACTUALS]}

Creates a table that displays the registrant's air actuals, including the fields they fill out on the Air Actual form, the secure flight fields, and additional information for every leg of the flight.

{[C-PRIMARY REGISTRANT AIR ACTUALS]}

Creates a table displaying air actuals for the primary registrant only, including the following details for all flights: contact information, GDS locator, total price, and additional flight information.


{[C-ALL HOTEL DETAILS]}

Creates a table that displays the registrant's housing reservation details from the Hotel Request form, along with their guests' requests. If multiple requests have been submitted, they will all appear. Housing questions will not be included. To display questions, use the invitee answers data tag.

 

{[C-PRIMARY REGISTRANT HOTEL DETAILS]} 

Creates a table displaying hotel reservation details for Primary registrant only.


{[C-MY HOTEL]}

Creates a table that displays the registrant's housing reservation details from the Hotel Request form. If multiple requests have been submitted, they will all appear. Housing questions and guest's housing requests will not be included. To display questions, use the invitee answers data tag.

{[C-MY ITINERARY]}

Creates a table that displays the registrant's air actuals, air request, housing, and car reservation details.

{[C-MY TRAVEL REQUEST LINK ]} or {[C-MY TRAVEL REQUEST URL]}

Inserts a link that, once clicked, takes the registrant to the My Travel page once they provide their email and confirmation number. Here they can view their requests and modify their travel accommodations. If using the link version, the default text will read "Click here."

Creates a table that displays the sessions an invitee has registered for, including their date, time, and location. When selecting this tag, you'll choose what types of sessions should be included, and if the session custom fields and codes will display. Your choice will replace the "ANN" section of the tag.

Displays a list of the sessions an invitee has registered for. When selecting this tag, you'll choose what types of sessions should be included and how they should be separated. Your choice will replace the "parameters" section of the tag.

Inserts a link that, when clicked, prints the registrant's name badge. If using the link version, the default text will read "Click here to print the name badge."

Invitee
 
{[C-CONFIRMATION NUM LINK]} or {[C-CONFIRMATION NUM URL]}

Inserts a link that, when clicked, will send the invitee an email containing their system-generated confirmation number. They will need this to view and modify their registration. If using the link version, the default text will simply read "Click here."

{[C-CURRENT REGISTRATION]}


Creates a table that displays what someone selected during registration, including admission items, optional sessions, optional items, and answers to registration questions. You can modify what questions appear or add more text below sessions, but nothing else can be customized.The guest's items will also appear.

{[C-PRIMARY REGISTRANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION]}

Brings up the registration information for the invitee only, including all travel details.

{[C-GROUP CONFIRMATION DETAILS]}

Lists the system-generated group confirmation number as well as individual confirmation numbers for everyone in the group. They will need this to view and modify their registration.

{[C-GUEST CONFIRMATION DETAILS]}

Displays the name and confirmation number of the invitee along with each guest and their corresponding confirmation number.

{[C-ANSWER:Question Code]}

Displays the invitee's response to any registration, feedback survey, regret survey, or cancellation survey question. Internal Information fields can be selected as well. If a code hasn't been added to the question, it won't appear in the data tag search. Any unanswered questions will generate a blank space.

{[C-MY AGENDA:ANN]}

Creates a table that displays the sessions an invitee has registered for, including their date, time, and location. When selecting this tag, you'll choose what types of sessions should be included, and if the session custom fields and codes will display. Your choice will replace the "ANN" section of the tag.

{[C-MY SESSIONS: parameters]}

Displays a list of the sessions an invitee has registered for. When selecting this tag, you'll choose what types of sessions should be included and how they should be separated. Your choice will replace the "parameters" section of the tag.

{[E-NAME BADGE LINK]} or {[E-NAME BADGE URL]}

Inserts a link that, when clicked, prints the registrant's name badge. If using the link version, the default text will read "Click here to print the name badge."


Registration

{[E-RSVP NO LINK]} or {[E-RSVP NO URL]}

Inserts a link that, when clicked, declines the invitee from the event and triggers the regret email. If using the link version, the default text will read "No." This data tag is also known as the decline link.

{[E-FEEDBACK LINK]} or {[E-FEEDBACK URL]}

Inserts a link that, when clicked, opens the Feedback survey. If using the link version, the default text will read "Click here to respond."

 

NOTE: If using the New Feedback Survey, use {[E-SURVEY-LINK]} or {[E-SURVEY-URL]} instead. 

{[E-MODIFY REG LINK]} or {[E-MODIFY REG URL]}

Inserts a link that, when clicked, allows the registrant to modify their registration once they provide their email and confirmation number. If using the link version, the default text will read "Click here."

{[P-FIRST NAME}

Inserts the event planner's first name.

{[P-LAST NAME}

Inserts the event planner's last name.

{[E-RSVP YES LINK]} or {[E-RSVP YES URL]}

Inserts a link that, when clicked, takes the invitee to the first page of registration. If using the link version, the default text will read "Yes." This data tag is also known as the registration link.

{[E-UNREGISTER LINK]} or {[E-UNREGISTER URL]}

Inserts a link that, when clicked, takes the invitee to the Cancellation page once they provide their email and confirmation number. After they unregister, the invitee will receive the Cancellation Confirmation email, if active. If using the link version, the default text will read "Unregister."

{[SS-LOCATION: Code]}

Displays the location of the session selected.

{[E-CALENDAR LINK]} or {[E-CALENDAR URL]}

Inserts a link that, when clicked, opens a calendar appointment for the event. The recipient can choose which calendar program they want to use to open the appointment. The appointment will populate with the event's title, start date and time, end date and time, and description.

{[E-HOMEPAGE LINK]} or {[E-HOMEPAGE URL]} 

Inserts a link that, when clicked, opens the Summary Page. If using the link version, the default text will read "Click here for the event summary."

{[SS-CALENDAR LINK]} or {[SS-CALENDAR URL]}

Inserts a link that, when clicked, opens a calendar appointment for the session selected. The recipient can choose which calendar program they want to use to open the appointment. The appointment will populate with the session's title, start date and time, end date and time, and description.

{[SS-REG INFO:CODE]}

Inserts the content in the Registration Information field of the session selected.

{[SS-ASSIGNED SPEAKERS:CODE]}

Inserts a table with the selected session's associated speaker name, title, company, and category.

Emails

{[E-EMAIL LINK]} or {[E-EMAIL URL]}

Inserts a link to the event's Summary page with one exception: if it's in either the Registration Confirmation or Modification Confirmation emails, it links to the Confirmation page instead. The default text in the link version reads "Click here to respond."   


{[EMAIL OPT OUT]}

Inserts a link that, once clicked, will opt the invitee out from receiving all emails sent from this account. However they will still receive confirmations based on actions they've taken in Cvent, such as making a payment or modifying their registration.

{[EMAIL UNSUBSCRIBE]}

Inserts a link that, once clicked, will opt an invitee out from receiving all emails sent from this event. However they will still receive confirmations based on actions they've taken in Cvent, such as making a payment or modifying their registration.
 
{[E-BRIDGE LINK: parameters]} or
{[E-BRIDGE URL: parameters]}

Inserts a link that, once clicked, will open the Identity Confirmation page of another event that is within your account. Instead of sending multiple emails to your invitees, the bridge data tags allow you to link to other events so invitees can select which ones they want to register for. To use this tag, you must also have Cvent's survey tool, Inquisium.

 
Payments
 
{[C-AMOUNT ORDERED]}

Displays the total amount of everything the invitee ordered that costs money. The amount includes admission items, optional sessions, service fees, taxes, and optional items.

{[C-AMOUNT PAID]}

Displays the total amount the invitee has paid.

{[C-BALANCE DUE]}

Displays the total amount the invitee owes.

{[C-GROUP ORDER DETAILS]}

Creates a table that displays a list of each group member's order, including the date ordered, type of order, item, type of item, amount ordered, amount paid, and balance due.

{[C-GROUP ORDER SUMMARY]}

Creates a table that displays a list of each group member's order, including the item, price, quantity, and amount due.

{[C-ORDERS]}

Creates a table that displays details of the invitee's orders, including the order's date and type, as well as the amount ordered, paid, and due. The guest's orders will also appear.

{[C-ORDER DETAILS]}

Creates a table that displays details of the invitee's orders, including the order number and date, item, price, quantity, amount due, along with service fees and taxes applied. The guest's orders will also appear.

{[C-ORDERS PAYMENTS]}

Creates a table that displays the invitee's orders, but if the registrant has made a payment, it also includes each order's payment date and type, amount ordered, paid, and due.

{[C-ORDER SUMMARY]} 

Displays the invoice/order number, date, and total cost of the registrant's order. Also displays the registrant's registration items and their price, quantity, and amount along with taxes and discounts applied. The guest's orders will also appear.

{[C-PAYMENTS]}

Creates a table that displays the invitee's payment details, including the date paid, payment type, reference number, and amount paid.


{[C-PAYMENT METHOD]}

Displays the most recent payment type used.
 
Travel
 
{[C-ALL REGISTRATION INFORMATION]}

Creates a table that displays the registrant's admission items, optional sessions, optional items, answers to registration questions, and all travel requests, air actual submissions, and answers to travel questions. The registrant's guests information will also appear.

{[C-MY AIR]}

Creates a table that displays the registrant's air request and air actuals reservation details, including the request name, reservation status, departure date and time, ticket type, seating, age category, special meal request, airline preference, and rewards number.

{[C-ALL AIR ACTUALS]}
 
Creates a table that displays every air actual flight that your registrant and their guests submit, including the fields they fill out on the Air Actual form, the secure flight fields, and additional information for every leg of the flight. Each flight is split into it's own table.

{[C-MY AIR ACTUALS]}

Creates a table that displays the registrant's air actuals, including the fields they fill out on the Air Actual form, the secure flight fields, and additional information for every leg of the flight.

{[C-PRIMARY REGISTRANT AIR ACTUALS]}

Creates a table displaying air actuals for the primary registrant only, including the following details for all flights: contact information, GDS locator, total price, and additional flight information.


{[C-ALL HOTEL DETAILS]}

Creates a table that displays the registrant's housing reservation details from the Hotel Request form, along with their guests' requests. If multiple requests have been submitted, they will all appear. Housing questions will not be included. To display questions, use the invitee answers data tag.

 

{[C-PRIMARY REGISTRANT HOTEL DETAILS]} 

Creates a table displaying hotel reservation details for Primary registrant only.


{[C-MY HOTEL]}

Inserts a link that, once clicked, takes the registrant to the My Travel page once they provide their email and confirmation number. Here they can view their requests and modify their travel accommodations. If using the link version, the default text will read "Click here."
