You can control what different people see during registration, what they can select, and how much those items cost, by creating categories called registration types. Common examples include Attendees, Exhibitors, or Speakers.

NOTE: Registration types differ from contact types in that they're specific to each event.

There are five ways to assign a registration type to an invitee:
  • Invitees can select their registration type from a dropdown or a list on the first page of registration. Set this up in your registration settings in Classic events or within the Site Designer in Flex
  • You can assign registration types to contacts well in advance from your Address Book. This works best if you don't have multiple events occurring around the same time.
  • The invitation list assigns a registration type to everyone who registers. You'll set up a separate invitation list for each type. This works best if invitees are coming to more than one of your events.
  • The registration link assigns a registration type to the person who clicked it. Choose the landing page and registration type for this link when creating it.
  • Details about the invitee determine their registration type, based off a custom contact field, internal information answer, contact group membership, or the total number of awarded credits. Set up the logic in your registration settings in Classic events or within the Site Designer in Flex.
