With a responsive webpage, your images will shift and expand depending on the device it's viewed on. Learn which options will work best by referencing the options below.

NOTE: Reference the Graphics Cheat Sheet for Flex Events for recommended dimensions while adding images in the Site Designer.

Background Image
Background images cover the entire website, behind all of the sections and widgets that display your information. It provides a cohesive look to your website, and helps with incorporating your organization's branding. To access your background in the Site Designer, click Theme on the right side of the canvas, then Background.

  • Scale-to-Fit - Scales the image so that it covers the area being viewed. This often prevents users from needing to scroll to view the image and provides a smoother browsing experience. This option should not be selected if you want the complete image to be visible since it will only display a fixed portion.
  • Fixed Background - Displays the whole image and remains static on the page. Therefore, it does not scroll with your page if the website content is larger than your image.

Section and Widget Backgrounds
Like the website's background, the image will display over the whole section or widget and is static in its placement so no matter the size of your image, it will stay true to its dimensions. To access your section or widget's background in the Site Designer, click the section or widget, then, to the right of the canvas, click Header.

  • Scale-to-fit - Scales the image so that it covers the area being viewed. A portion of the image will be visible and will expand as the screen dimensions increase. If the image is completely expanded, the image will become dependent on your Horizontal and Vertical alignments.

NOTE: Use larger images. If a smaller version is stretched to fit the section, it will look pixelated. Avoid patterns as well. They may not align properly if the image is repeated

Image Slideshow
The image slideshow is a group of images placed together that invitees can click through, or can be configured to progress through automatically. To access the image slideshow widget in the Site Designer, click Build to the right of the canvas and click and drag Image Slideshow onto the canvas where you want it to appear.
  • Although there are not specific recommended dimensions for images in the image slideshow widget, it is recommended that all images within the slideshow are set to the same dimensions. This ensures that the images will line up horizontally and vertically.
