When building your website and registration in the Site Designer, you may come across some popularly used words within Cvent and related training or help content. Review the list below to learn what these terms mean.

Canvas
The canvas is where you'll see your edits reflected in real-time. Every component of a page will be added to or removed from the canvas while you'll make your edits to the right of it.
 
 User-added image
 
Section
A section divides your canvas into chunks. Think of it as grouping together certain parts of a page, such as your sessions being grouped with your session questions. A section can be made of of multiple widgets, but is essentially just a placeholder for them.

Widget
A widget is a unit of information. Everything that you can drag onto the canvas is a widget. While many only hold a single piece of data, such as a name or location, others can be complex, such as listing out a registrant's agenda. Options to the right of the canvas can determine what additional information is displayed within the widget.

Build
The Build menu is located to the right of the canvas. This is where you go to find all the widgets that can be added to
a page. For widgets that can be customized, you'll also make any necessary changes here.

Theme
The Theme menu is located to the right of the canvas. This is where you go to customize the look and feel of your overall website and registration. Your applied styles are located here. These can be used to make a single change that automatically updates all widgets. However, if you make any Styling Options updates to an individual widget, edits made to the them will not apply to that widget.
