The Dynamic Event Guide is Here
With a modern refresh of the CrowdCompass app's home screen and main navigation, the Dynamic Event Guide displays the content that is most relevant to your attendees during the event. Select featured content, highlight attendees' upcoming sessions and appointments, and make it even easier for them to access the info they're looking for. Use the Dynamic Event Guide to drive engagement throughout the full lifecycle of your event.

Find It
Enable the Dynamic Event Guide in your event by navigating to the Design section of the EventCenter, then clicking Home Page Settings. Select 
Dynamic Event Guide, then click Update Event.

The Dynamic Event Guide can be activated for any unpublished event.
 
NOTE: Not sure if your event is a good fit? This home screen display option works best with events that include attendee personalized agendas, Live Polling, Live Q&A, and simple schedules without many overlapping sessions. Check out What's Changed for more details on how these items are incorporated into the design.

Here is a list of items you'll need to select or review in the EventCenter to customize the experience for your attendees:
  • Custom Colors - On the Custom Colors page, use the app simulator to see a preview of how your color selections will look in the new layout. 
  • Featured Content - You can now select specific speakers and sessions to highlight in your app. We recommend choosing 3-10 of each. Make your selections individually, in bulk using the content import templates, or through our Partner API.
  • Navigation Icons - From the Navigation Icons page, you can now preview how your icons will look in the app. A full list of all navigation icons will be shown in the More tab. The first four navigation icons will appear in the Quick-Access Icons widget, giving attendees a shortcut to this important content. You'll be able to preview both. If you've created attendee groups, you can also use the preview to see how your icons will appear to attendees in each.

What's Changed
There are now four main areas within the app for attendees to explore:

Event Guide
The app home screen is now made up of the following widgets that display before, during or after your event:
  • Event Info - Shows your event name and Event Icon graphic.
  • Event Countdown - Displays a timer that shows how many days, hours, minutes and seconds remain until your event begins.
  • Banners - Displays your banner images. Each banner is still shown for the specific amount of time you've set before rotating to another image.
  • Quick-Access Icons - Shows your top four navigation icons and appears directly beneath your Event Info and Banners. If navigation icons are restricted to certain groups, attendees will only see the first four icons accessible to their group in this section. The full list of all navigation icons is shown in the More tab.
  • Featured Speakers - Displays up to three featured speakers at a time. Speakers appear randomly and refresh whenever an attendee returns to the home screen. Attendees can tap "View all speakers" to see the full list.
  • Featured Sessions - Displays up to three featured sessions at a time. Sessions appear randomly and refresh whenever an attendee returns to the home screen. If a session has ended, it will no longer be shown. Once all the featured sessions have passed, this widget will automatically disappear. Attendees can tap "View all sessions" to see the full schedule.
  • Featured Sponsors - Displays the logos of your featured sponsors in alphabetical order. This widget appears if you have at least one featured sponsor and will remain for the duration of your event. We recommend selecting 3-10 featured sponsors. You must upload a main image for each featured sponsor, otherwise they will not appear in the widget. Attendees can tap a logo to view that organization's page in the app, or "View all sponsors" to see the full list.
  • Happening Now - Shows the attendee's current session or appointment based on their personal schedule. For sessions with Live Polls or Live Q&A enabled, attendees can respond to polls or submit a question by tapping the "Take the poll" or "Ask a question now" buttons. If an attendee has more than one current session or appointment, this section will display "You have a few things scheduled at the same time" and link to their full agenda. Without personalized agendas or the option to add sessions to their schedule, your attendees won't be able to take advantage of this feature.
  • Up Next - Shows the attendee's upcoming session or appointment based on their personal schedule. For sessions linked to a floor plan map, attendees can tap the location to see where the activity is taking place. If an attendee has more than one current session or appointment, this section will display "You have a few things scheduled at the same time" and link to their full agenda. Without personalized agendas or the option to add sessions to their schedule, your attendees won't be able to take advantage of this feature.
  • Recent Sessions - Displays each attendee's most recent session and a quick link to the available surveys for that session. This feature is available for events using CrowdCompass Surveys or integrating Event Feedback (New) Surveys from Classic.
  • Contacts - After the event, displays each attendee's most recent contacts and includes the option to export all contacts or view the full list.
  • Notes - After the event, displays each attendee's most recent notes and includes the option to export all notes or view the full list.
  • Notifications - The bell icon in the top right alerts attendees to any new notifications. When tapped, this shows attendees the classic notifications tab they are already used to in a CrowdCompass app.

Schedule
Shows attendees the overall event agenda and their personal schedule within the Schedule and My Schedule tabs.

Most of the items previously included in the "My Items" side nav menu are now found here:
  • Messages
  • Appointments
  • Contacts
  • Notes
  • Travel
  • Switch Event
  • Settings

Certain sections include badges to let attendees know when they have a pending appointment, a new message, or a contact request. The total number of badges is visible at a glance on the Profile tab.

What's Changed
There are now four main areas within the app for attendees to explore:

Event Guide
The app home screen is now made up of the following widgets that display before, during or after your event:
  • Event Info - Shows your event name and Event Icon graphic.
  • Event Countdown - Displays a timer that shows how many days, hours, minutes and seconds remain until your event begins.
  • Banners - Displays your banner images. Each banner is still shown for the specific amount of time you've set before rotating to another image.
  • Quick-Access Icons - Shows your top four navigation icons and appears directly beneath your Event Info and Banners. If navigation icons are restricted to certain groups, attendees will only see the first four icons accessible to their group in this section. The full list of all navigation icons is shown in the More tab.
  • Featured Speakers - Displays up to three featured speakers at a time. Speakers appear randomly and refresh whenever an attendee returns to the home screen. Attendees can tap "View all speakers" to see the full list.
  • Featured Sessions - Displays up to three featured sessions at a time. Sessions appear randomly and refresh whenever an attendee returns to the home screen. If a session has ended, it will no longer be shown. Once all the featured sessions have passed, this widget will automatically disappear. Attendees can tap "View all sessions" to see the full schedule.
  • Featured Sponsors - Displays the logos of your featured sponsors in alphabetical order. This widget appears if you have at least one featured sponsor and will remain for the duration of your event. We recommend selecting 3-10 featured sponsors. You must upload a main image for each featured sponsor, otherwise they will not appear in the widget. Attendees can tap a logo to view that organization's page in the app, or "View all sponsors" to see the full list.
  • Happening Now - Shows the attendee's current session or appointment based on their personal schedule. For sessions with Live Polls or Live Q&A enabled, attendees can respond to polls or submit a question by tapping the "Take the poll" or "Ask a question now" buttons. If an attendee has more than one current session or appointment, this section will display "You have a few things scheduled at the same time" and link to their full agenda. Without personalized agendas or the option to add sessions to their schedule, your attendees won't be able to take advantage of this feature.
  • Up Next - Shows the attendee's upcoming session or appointment based on their personal schedule. For sessions linked to a floor plan map, attendees can tap the location to see where the activity is taking place. If an attendee has more than one current session or appointment, this section will display "You have a few things scheduled at the same time" and link to their full agenda. Without personalized agendas or the option to add sessions to their schedule, your attendees won't be able to take advantage of this feature.
  • Recent Sessions - Displays each attendee's most recent session and a quick link to the available surveys for that session. This feature is available for events using CrowdCompass Surveys or integrating Event Feedback (New) Surveys from Classic.
  • Contacts - After the event, displays each attendee's most recent contacts and includes the option to export all contacts or view the full list.
  • Notes - After the event, displays each attendee's most recent notes and includes the option to export all notes or view the full list.
  • Notifications - The bell icon in the top right alerts attendees to any new notifications. When tapped, this shows attendees the classic notifications tab they are already used to in a CrowdCompass app.

Schedule
Shows attendees the overall event agenda and their personal schedule within the Schedule and My Schedule tabs.

Profile
Most of the items previously included in the "My Items" side nav menu are now found here:
  • Messages
  • Appointments
  • Contacts
  • Notes
  • Travel
  • Switch Event
  • Settings

Certain sections include badges to let attendees know when they have a pending appointment, a new message, or a contact request. The total number of badges is visible at a glance on the Profile tab.

This is just the beginning of the Dynamic Event Guide. We're excited to add the following widgets in future updates:
  • Exhibitor Showcase - Includes the total number of exhibitors and a quick link to the full list.
  • Event at a Glance - After the event, shows attendees their total number of contacts made, sessions attended, sessions rated, messages sent, social posts created, polls completed and questions asked.

The Dynamic Event Guide is Here
With a modern refresh of the CrowdCompass app's home screen and main navigation, the Dynamic Event Guide displays the content that is most relevant to your attendees during the event. Select featured content, highlight attendees' upcoming sessions and appointments, and make it even easier for them to access the info they're looking for. Use the Dynamic Event Guide to drive engagement throughout the full lifecycle of your event.

Find It
Enable the Dynamic Event Guide in your event by navigating to the Design section of the EventCenter, then clicking Home Page Settings. Select 
Dynamic Event Guide, then click Update Event.

NOTE: Not sure if your event is a good fit? This home screen display option works best with events that include attendee personalized agendas, Live Polling, Live Q&A, and simple schedules without many overlapping sessions.
