The Competitive Set Dashboard is an analytics tool available within Business Intelligence to display a hotel’s performance against a group of direct competitors. Its ultimate goal is to help improve a venue's likelihood of winning business. Follow the steps below to run this report and review its data.

NOTE: This is an additional feature. To enable it for your account, contact your sales representative.

1 Access the competitive set dashboard. Click Business Intelligence then Reports. Click Competitive Set Dashboard.

NOTE: Can't see the Business Intelligence tab? Ask your administrator to assign you a user role that gives you full access to this section.

To familiarize yourself with the key terms used throughout the dashboard, click User-added image at the top.

You can also select whether to view your dashboard based on RFP or room night data.

To view your current data settings hover over Data in the top right and select View Data Summary. This will display a list of the current criteria used in the dashboard.

2 Manage your competitive set dashboard. Start by making changes to your report criteria, to focus on specific data you need.

Once you have configured your criteria, dive into your report data to assess your venue's performance.

The competitive set dashboard is divided into several sections:
  • Summary gives the big picture, showcasing key metrics like competitive set share, response rate, and bid rate against the list of hotels that make up your competitive set.
  • Trends outline your venue's performance in terms of received RFPs or room nights compared to your competitive set and historical data.
  • Demand breaks down who’s submitting RFPs to your venue, including the sum of RFPs by market segment and any open opportunity.
  • Response shows the average response time, turn down rate, or the number of RFPs you didn’t respond to at all.
  • Results highlight the outcomes of your work, including conversion rate and your proposal's performance compared to the competition.
  • Review summarizes your metrics and includes a color-coded indication of whether you are ahead or behind the competition for each.
Each section is made up of several editable widgets that display data about your venue and your competitive set.

You can drill down into widget data by clicking on the figures highlighted in blue. This will open sub-reports that will show the RFPs on which the widget data is based.

Click Filter in the upper right to trim down the data you see.

Furthermore, every RFP on these reports can be accessed by clicking its name.

NOTE: All these sub-reports can be exported by clicking the User-added image icon and selecting the export format you want (e.g. .TXT, .CSV, or .XLSX).

3 Save your customized report. If you have made edits to the widget settings and report criteria, you can save them for future use by hovering over ...Actions in the top right and clicking Save As. Enter a name for your customized report and a description, if desired. You can also create a schedule to automatically run the report at regular intervals.

Click Save when you're done. You can find your customized report in the Saved Reports tab.

4 Export your competitive set dashboard. To keep a record of your current dashboard data hover over ...Actions and click Export. Select the format you want and click Export.
