When running a Business Intelligence report, you can tweak its criteria to focus on data for specific venues, date ranges, market segments, or peak room nights  Here's how.

NOTE: Business Intelligence is an additional feature. Contact your sales representative to learn more.

1 Access the report criteria. Click Business Intelligence, then Reports. Click the name of the report you need.

NOTE: Can't see the Business Intelligence tab? Ask your administrator to assign you a user role that gives you full access to Business Intelligence.

Hover over Data in the top right and select Change Report Data.

2 Select the venue, market, or competitive set you need. Depending on the report you run, you have the option to choose what venues or markets to view data for.

NOTE: If you are running a property-level report such as the Competitive Set Dashboard, Hotel Performance Dashboard, or the Sales Manager Report, you can only select one venue.

For CVB Business Intelligence reports, you can also filter your report data by hotel size, specific chain scales (based on the Travel Smith scaling standard), and brands.

If you are running the Competitive Set Dashboard and you have defined several sets of competitor venues, choose the one you want to compare your venue with.

3 Set the report date range. Decide if you want your awarded RFPs to be filtered by awarded or received date.

If you filter by awarded date, all the widgets related to awarded group business or conversion rate will display information based on RFPs that were awarded in a set date range, while all the other widgets will display information based on RFPs that were received in the same date range.

NOTE: Filtering by awarded date will particularly help increase the accuracy of widgets that calculate business trends.

From the RFP Received/Awarded Date and Arrival Date dropdowns, you can choose predefined ranges such as current month, previous month, or previous quarter, but you can also set your own range by selecting Custom and entering the start and end dates you prefer.

If you are running the Competitive Set Dashboard, you can compare your venue's performance to a previous period. Depending on how granular you want the data to be, you can compare week over week, month over month, or take advantage of historical data and compare against the performance recorded one or even two years before.

For example, if you set the Received or Awarded Date Range from January 1st, 2019 to December 31, 2019 and you select Past 2 Years in the Past Time Period Comparison dropdown, the report will compare your venue's performance to the one recorded between January 1st 2017 and December 31st, 2017.

From the Peak Room Night Selection dropdown, you can choose to only show data for the peak room nights that fulfill a certain condition (e.g. peak room nights are greater than a set value).

If you are running a property level report, you can choose what arrival or departure week days to be considered in the RFP data.

4 Set additional report criteria. Select the market segments you want to focus on.

By default, Business Intelligence reports do not take canceled RFPs into account. You can, however, use the Canceled RFPs Selection filter to include these as well. You can even choose to view only RFPs that were canceled, to assess their business impact.

Select RFPs sourced through the Cvent Supplier Network only, or include RFPs from sources outside the Supplier Network (e.g. Speed RFP or Ellite Meetings)
