A Known survey tracks and displays your respondents' contact information, and the updates reflect in your Address Book. Anonymous surveys do not track or display your respondents' contact information and the information cannot be updated. Instead, their identity is replaced by a 7-10 digit random response number. Additional differences include:
 
  • Address Book - A Known respondent's activity, email, and click history are recorded, while an Anonymous respondent's history is not.
  • Settings - You can allow Known respondents to answer more than once or edit their responses, while multiple responses and editing are not available for anonymous respondents.
  • Design Survey - The Identity Confirmation page and Contact Profile are available for known respondents, and they can forward the survey to others. For anonymous respondents, their contact information is not collected, therefore it is not displayed. Survey forwarding is also unavailable.
  • Emails - Known respondents will remain on the invitation list or targeted list throughout all phases of the survey, and they can receive additional emails. Anonymous respondents are removed from the invitation list or targeted list after the first page of the survey, and they will only receive the invitation and reminder emails.
  • Reports - A Known respondent's contact information is visible along with their response number and answers. Only the response number and answers are visible for Anonymous respondents.
