Code snippets are small sections of JavaScript that provide you with additional analytics within your event, such as a Facebook Pixel or the Marketo Munchkin Tracker.

1 Access the Code Snippet page. Begin by selecting your event. From the left-hand navigation, click Marketing, then Code Snippets.

NOTE: Ensure that you have not added jquery or <script> or </script> to your code snippet. The event will automatically render this for you, and the additional code will break your code. Additionally, a single-page application is used for code snippets.

2 Add a code snippet. Click Add Code Snippet. To the right of the Code Snippet field, click the ellipsis (...), then click Select to the left of the code snippet you want to add.

NOTE: We do not recommend or support the use of code snippets to improve website aesthetics, add custom functionality, or enhance websites.

Switch the radio button to Yes under the areas where you want to add the snippet. Based on the features you've enabled for your event, your options include:
  • Event Website - The Website and Registration for your event.
  • Attendee Login - The login page for the Attendee Hub Website.
  • Attendee Hub - The Attendee Hub Website.

Then select your snippet type. Based on where you're adding the snippet, your options include:
  • Initialization - Creates the connection between your event and tracking service, such as Google Analytics. This snippet will run when the page is done loading.
  • All website and registration pages (trigger-based) - Collects data whenever an invitee accesses a page of the website or registration.
  • Registration conversions (trigger-based) - Only collects data when a registrant completes their registration.

Create Code Snippet

Click Save. In some cases, you may need to use multiple types of code snippets to meet your particular needs. Repeat these steps for each code snippet you want to add.

NOTE: The code snippet will automatically be added to the <body> of the page. You do not need to add code snippets individually to the headers of your website and registration pages.
